Eindhoven Mini Maker Faire

The weekend of 29 and 30 August was a fantastic celebration for creative and passionate Makers.

Both makers and visitors enjoyed themselves for hours, kids could not stop playing and tinkering with the many creative tech activities.

Nearly 2,000 visitors went to the Eindhoven Maker Faire at the VDMA complex, despite the extreme hot weather; in the large hall with a glass roof rising temperatures to tropical heights.

The more than 80 Maker presentations and activities gave a pretty diverse picture of what is possible in the field of 3D printing, recycling, food technology, playful software, media, electronics, robotics, biosensors, art, drones, fabbing, tinkering and much more.

Popular Maker presentations included: The performances of the robot InMoov with its inventor Gaël Langevin, who presented in a voice-controlled robot dialogue its many gestures and actions; The spectacular Chain Reaction; Marble Runs; Spell your Future and the Future SF drawing workshop; Lennie van Vugt metal art; Samantha van Garderen maker design; FabLab013; ProBotiX …

It was a great festival, with a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere where knowledge sharing and showing of creations has induced many new contacts and inspirations. We are wondering how many visitors have turned into new creators-to-be!

De hele week wordt er al flink geschilderd, geschroefd en geboord. De hallen worden schoongemaakt, kabels worden getrokken en het meubilair wordt op zijn plek gezet. Zaterdag om 11 uur is het dan eindelijk zover.
De Makers zullen echter vanaf vrijdag al hard met de voorbereiding bezig zijn om jullie een onvergetelijke ervaring te bezorgen.

The weekend of 29 and 30 August 2015 The doors of V D M A in the very centre of Eindhoven are open for general public to present Eindhoven Maker Faire.

It used to be a car garage showroom and workshop for Ford automobiles.

Now it is a new location where creative technology becomes visible, tangible and accessible again.

Spectacular Industrial Spaces resurrecting and showing their beauty!

Maker Faire weekend

About 80 participants are showing this weekend their very special creations, demonstrate inspiring technology, give workshops, show how things work…

Including a.o. 3D-print primers, diverse robot projects, fun elektronics, inventive tinkering, sustainable food making, science-fiction drawing, Oculus Rift VR, artistic experiments, musical surprises…

Come join with friends, family or loved ones to take a peek and have a look into the future!

Tickets at the door for a small fee (€ 6), up till 7 year free.
Accessible by Train, bus, bicycle, car and walking from Heuvelgalerie, 18-Septemberplein, Station, Market!

InMoov is een 3D geprint Open Source Robot project uit Parijs. Wat InMoov zo speciaal maakt is het Open Source principe: de ontwerpen en modellen van de InMoov robot worden overal ter wereld 3D geprint!

Er vinden live optredens plaats van Team DARE robotband.
Een klein team van enthousiaste ingenieurs uit Eindhoven hebben een robotband ontwikkeld. Deze band speelt alle tophits via unieke robots!

Naar de World Maker Faire? Wij regelen het voor jou

MAD emergent art center en het Nederlands Instituut voor Studiereizen(NIS) organiseren een bezoek aan de World Maker Faire in New York! Dit is een van de grootste Maak-, knutsel- en doe evenementen ter wereld en jij kunt er bij zijn!
Het vertrek is op vrijdag 25 september naar New York met aankomst op dezelfde dag. De terugvlucht is op zondagavond 27 september, zodat je maandag weer in Nederland bent : dus efficient en effectief. Natuurlijk is het ook mogelijk al eerder naar New York te vertrekken en/of langer in NY blijven. Meer informatie staat op de website van het Nederlands Instituut voor Studiereizen en de Maker Faire NY.

Op zaterdag 11 juli 2015 vindt een nieuwe editie plaats van het Impact Jam evenement, als voorproefje en introductie tot de Eindhoven Maker Faire. Impact Jam 1.1. vindt plaats in Eindhoven, op de Wal 28, en deze editie richten we ons op nieuwe technologie en educatie door middel van in totaal 7 workshops.
